 Verified I felt welcome from the first moment at check in. The cabin was immaculate and generously equipped, and Jenny & Sue were kind, attentive hosts while still being respectful of my space and privacy while there.I booked with them for a peaceful place to focus on some work and I got exactly that, with a comfortable work space, beautiful surroundings and great walk options of various lengths when I needed a break. The walks (especially close to water), quiet surroundings, and good cooking spaces were what initially decided the booking for me. I had a really lovely time and plan to return when I can - can't fault it.

 Verified I loved my stay at the cabin. It's in a quiet location, just out of the centre of Alresford village, but within easy access to roads to get to the coast, inland or to Colchester in a short time.The cabin is very clean & comfortable and extremely well-equipped for self-catering and in general. I experienced 30+ temps, but it was perfectly possible to keep the cabin cool, by opening all the windows & outer doors and using the 2 powerful fans in situ. The back patio & small grass area are very private, with views to open country and make a lovely place to sit out.Jenny, Sue & Stuart are very welcoming & friendly. Jenny is very responsive to any queries by text or email. She had provided some thoughtful & tasty extras in the way of foodstuffs.I explored the local area, from the Naze to Mersea, by car and really enjoyed the stunning Beth Chatto Gardens, 15 mins away. I also spent a couple of glorious afternoons at Brightlingsea Lido.I left with good memories of a very enjoyable holiday.

 Verified We booked a couple of nights in Jenny’s cabin because of its convenient location for visiting family in nearby Wivenhoe. We immediately felt at home and really liked the layout of the cabin, which had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.Although the weather was very hot while we were there, the cabin stayed surprisingly comfortable. The construction of the cabin, together with the effective fans provided, meant we slept well. We also very much appreciated the thoughtful welcome provisions.Jenny and her family were friendly, welcoming and helpful throughout our stay, making us feel very much at home.The bed was comfortable, the setting was peaceful and perfect for birdwatching, and we enjoyed the lovely views and sunsets. Alresford Creek is just a short walk away, making it a great place to explore.This is an excellent base for a longer stay if you’re looking to discover this beautiful part of Essex.  Verified We absolutely loved our stay here. Jenny, Sue, and Stuart were all incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our visit, and the location is beautiful. Our dog loved the fenced in area where he could sniff freely and the numerous nearby walking paths make it a great getaway with a pup. We walked from the train station and it was a pleasant, easy walk along quiet roads so it's very doable with or without a car. The cabin itself is comfortable and modern, and they have thought of so many small things to make you feel welcome and comfortable. I highly recommend staying here if you get a chance, you will not regret it.

 Verified We had a wonderful break at Oak Meadows Cabin. It was beautifully maintained, very well equipped and in a lovely spot. Hosts were friendly and approachable, with lots of good advice.There was a lot of wildlife locally and some beautiful creeks and countryside. Plenty of good, dog friendly, pubs serving good food. Altogether an ideal location for a break and a most relaxing spot; up there with the best self catering properties we have ever visited!
